Very expected game in Yingkou where 8th ranked Jilin Tigers (11-10) were defeated by third ranked Flying Leopards (16-5) 112-108 on Monday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Flying Leopards made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. Flying Leopards outrebounded Jilin Tigers 50-35 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Flying Leopards made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American guard Kyle Fogg (191-1990, college: Arizona) who scored 38 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international Zhenlin Zhang (206-1999, college: Tulane) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. American guard Dominique Jones (193-1988, college: S.Florida) produced a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 17 rebounds and 16 assists and the former international point guard Weize Jiang (182-2000) added 25 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion maintains third place with 16-5 record having just one point less than leader Zhejiang GB. Loser Jilin Tigers keep the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Xinjiang FT and Nanjing TX MK. Flying Leopards will meet at home Sturgeons (#19) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Jilin Tigers will play against Blue Whales (#17) in Sichuan and hope to secure a win.
