Regular Season Round 27: Shinshu BW - Tochigi Brex 70-62

There was no surprise in Nagano where 5th ranked Tochigi Brex (11-15) was defeated by third ranked Shinshu BW (13-13) 70-62 on Sunday. It was a great evening for American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import center William Mosley (203-1989, college: NSU) helped adding 14 points and 10 rebounds. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Josh Scott (208-1993, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds and the former international swingman Makoto Hiejima (190-1990) scored 9 points and 4 assists. Tochigi Brex's coach tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Shinshu BW maintains third place with 13-13 record having just three points less than leader Hiroshima D. Tochigi Brex lost their third game in a row. Defending champion keeps the fifth position with 15 games lost. They share it with San-en NP and Kyoto H.. Shinshu BW will meet at home Niigata A. (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Tochigi Brex will play against Nagoya DD and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
