There was a surprise result in Urumqi where fourteenth ranked Flying Tigers (10-10) beat higher ranked Loongs (10-9) 127-110 on Friday. They outrebounded Loongs 51-35 including 18 on the offensive glass. Flying Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American point guard Chris Clemons (175-1997, college: Campbell) scored 55 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Xuhang Zhu (204-1993) chipped in 18 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side Ning Zhang (192-1997) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and American point guard Kahlil Felder (175-1995, college: Oakland) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Flying Tigers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Qingdao E. Loser Loongs dropped to the tenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Jiangsu D.. Flying Tigers will meet at home Eagles (#12) in the next round. Loongs will play against Rockets in Ningbo and hope to secure a win.
