Regular Season Round 25: Ibaraki R. - Shiga L-Stars 90-83

There was a minor upset when their close opponent Shiga L-Stars (4-21) lost to eighth ranked Ibaraki R. (8-17) in Mito 83-90 on Friday. Ibaraki R. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-1990, college: Portland St.) nailed 16 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and swingman Hayato Yamaguchi (194-1998) accounted for 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Ibaraki R. players scored in double figures. American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-1990, college: Texas) came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward Kelvin Martin (196-1989, college: Charleston So.) added 22 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Shiga L-Stars in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ibaraki R. moved-up to seventh place. Shiga L-Stars lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 21 games lost. Ibaraki R. will again meet at home Shiga L-Stars (#8) in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will have a break next round.
