Very important is a road loss of third ranked Gunma CT (13-8) against sixth ranked San-en NP (10-13) on Sunday night. Visiting Gunma CT was defeated by San-en NP in Hamamatsu 92-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gunma CT. San-en NP dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Gunma CT's 26 and made 23-of-26 charity shots (88.5 percent) during the game. San-en NP players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American center Kyle O'Quinn (206-1990, college: Norfolk St., agency: Pensack Sports) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Ryusei Sasaki (180-1996) accounted for 14 points and 7 assists for the winning side. American center Kaleb Tarczewski (212-1993, college: Arizona) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-1981, college: Evergreen St.) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Gunma CT in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. San-en NP moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Sea Horses M. and Akita NH. Gunma CT at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. San-en NP will play against higher ranked Nagoya DD (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gunma CT will play against the league's leader Chiba Jets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
