There was no surprise when 8th ranked Shiga L-Stars (4-19) were outplayed on the road by second ranked Alvark Tokyo (18-5) 105-74 on Sunday. Alvark Tokyo shot 62.5 percent from the field. Alvark Tokyo outrebounded Shiga L-Stars 37-21 including 27 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 63.2 percentage. Alvark Tokyo looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Shiga L-Stars' players. The best player for the winners was international forward Ryan Rossiter (204-1989, college: Siena) who scored 8 points, 19 rebounds and 7 assists. American guard Justin Cobbs (191-1991, college: California, agency: BeoBasket) chipped in 21 points and 9 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Alvark Tokyo players scored in double figures. American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-1990, college: Texas) produced 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and Filipino guard Kiefer Isaac Ravena (181-1993) added 11 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Alvark Tokyo. They maintain second place with 18-5 record having just four point less than leader Ryukyu GK, which they share with Hiroshima D. Shiga L-Stars lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 19 games lost. Alvark Tokyo will meet Tochigi Brex (#4) on the road in the next round. Shiga L-Stars will play against Kyoto H. (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
