Regular Season Round 22: Kagawa FA - Chiba 66-98

Very predictable result in Takamatsu where first ranked Chiba (19-5) outscored 6th ranked Kagawa FA (8-16) 98-66 on Saturday. Chiba dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Kagawa FA's 34. They outrebounded Kagawa FA 41-23 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Chiba especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 19 passes made by Kagawa FA's players. American Brandon Ashley (206-1994, college: Arizona) scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import power forward Evan Ravenel (204-1989, college: Ohio St.) chipped in 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Chiba's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side forward Akihisa Kosaka (197-1992) responded with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Australian forward Rhys Vague (206-1996) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Chiba have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Newly promoted Chiba maintains first position with 19-5 record, which they share with Koshigaya A. and Saga B. Kagawa FA lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 16 games lost. Chiba will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kagawa FA will play again against the league's leader Chiba (#1) and hope to secure a win.
