Regular Season Round 22: Chiba Jets - Kawasaki BT 89-85

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Kawasaki BT (14-8) on the court of first ranked Chiba Jets on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Chiba Jets 89-85. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Kawasaki BT. Chiba Jets looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Gavin Edwards (206-1988, college: UConn) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Christopher Smith (193-1994, college: Utah St.) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-1985, college: Nevada) replied with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and American power forward Jordan Heath (208-1991, college: Canisius, agency: Octagon Europe) added 16 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Kawasaki BT. Five Chiba Jets and four Kawasaki BT players scored in double figures. Kawasaki BT's coach Kenji Sato tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Chiba Jets have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-4 record which they share with defeated Kawasaki BT. Kawasaki BT at the other side still keeps top place with eight games lost. Chiba Jets is again looking forward to face league's leader Kawasaki BT in Kanagawa in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kawasaki BT will have a break next round.
