Everything went according to plan when first ranked Chiba Jets (17-4) won against at home 8th ranked Ibaraki R. (5-16) 81-76 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The game was also dominated by American players. Forward John Mooney (206-1998, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners and guard Christopher Smith (193-1994, college: Utah St.) chipped in 22 points. The best for the losing side was forward Chehales Tapscott (195-1990, college: Portland St.) with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Thomas Kennedy (201-1987, college: Detroit) scored 24 points and 7 rebounds. Ibaraki R.'s coach Richard Glesmann rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Chiba Jets have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 17-4 record. Ibaraki R. lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 16 games lost. Chiba Jets will meet at home league's leader Kawasaki BT in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ibaraki R. will play against Tochigi Brex (#5) and hope to secure a win.
