The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Chiba as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Chiba smashed 6th ranked Nishinomiya S. at home 96-72. Chiba shot 61.1 percent from the field. They also forced 20 Nishinomiya S. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Nishinomiya S. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Leo Lyons (206-1987, college: Missouri) stepped up and scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Evan Ravenel (204-1989, college: Ohio St.) chipped in 23 points. Four Chiba players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Noriaki Dohara (178-1989) with 15 points and 5 assists and guard Sena Kawashima (187-2000) scored 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chiba (18-5) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Koshigaya A. and Saga B. Nishinomiya S. at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Fukuoka R.. Nishinomiya S. will play next round against strong Ehime OV trying to get back on the winning streak. Chiba will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Kagawa FA in Takamatsu.
