Regular Season Round 21: Sea Horses M. - Ryukyu GK 96-81

Top ranked Ryukyu GK (17-4) recorded its fourth loss in Kariya on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by sixth ranked Sea Horses M. (9-12) 96-81. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Ryukyu GK. Sea Horses M. dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Ryukyu GK's 40. It was a great shooting night for Sea Horses M. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was power forward Davante Gardner (203-1991, college: Marquette) who scored 33 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Anthony Lawrence II (201-1996, college: Miami, FL, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Allen Durham (198-1988, college: Grace Christian) who recorded 27 points and 6 assists and power forward Jack Cooley (206-1991, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) added 7 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sea Horses M. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with San-en NP and Osaka E. Ryukyu GK at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with Chiba Jets. Sea Horses M. is looking forward to face FE Nagoya (#5) on the road in the next round. Ryukyu GK will play against Hokkaido L. (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
