Regular Season Round 20: Shiga L-Stars - Shinshu BW 65-72

Very expected game when 8th ranked Shiga L-Stars (4-16) were defeated at home by fourth ranked Shinshu BW (10-10) 72-65 on Saturday. Shinshu BW looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was Anthony McHenry (202-1983, college: Georgia Tech) who scored 7 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Kelvin Martin (196-1989, college: Charleston So.) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Jordan Hamilton (201-1990, college: Texas) added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Shinshu BW have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Yokohama BC. Shiga L-Stars lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with 16 games lost. They share it with Toyama G.. Shinshu BW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shiga L-Stars will play again against Shinshu BW (#4) and hope to secure a win.
