Not a big story in a game in Sapporo where 7th ranked Hokkaido L. (5-15) was rolled over by second ranked Hiroshima D. (16-4) 112-87 on Saturday. Hiroshima D. made 29-of-33 free shots (87.9 percent) during the game. Hiroshima D. had a 25-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Hiroshima D. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Nick Mayo (206-1997, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. The other American import forward Dwayne Evans (201-1992, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 26 points and 6 rebounds. Australian forward Brock Motum (208-1990, college: WSU) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Shawn Long (208-1993, college: Louisiana, agency: Pensack Sports) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Hiroshima D. and five Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hiroshima D. have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Chiba Jets. Hokkaido L. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Ibaraki R.. Hiroshima D. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Hokkaido L. will play again against the league's second-placed Hiroshima D. (#2) and hope to secure a win.
