There was a surprise result in Hangzhou where fourteenth ranked Guangsha Lions (7-7) outscored higher ranked Heroes (8-5) 126-101 on Wednesday. Guangsha Lions made 21-of-23 free shots (91.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Heroes turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 23 long-distance shots on high 53.5 percentage. Guangsha Lions looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American point guard Quinn Cook (188-1993, college: Duke) fired 54 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Minghui Sun (187-1996) chipped in 17 points and 8 assists. American-Montenegrin point guard Taylor Rochestie (186-1985, college: WSU) produced 13 points and 6 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and Peidong Chen (189-1999) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Guangsha Lions moved-up to ninth place. Loser Heroes keep the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Jilin NE T.. Guangsha Lions will meet at home higher ranked Jiangsu Dragons (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Heroes will play against Loongs and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
