Regular Season Round 19: Sea Horses M. - Yokohama BC 69-65

There was a minor upset when 3rd placed Yokohama BC (10-9) lost to sixth ranked Sea Horses M. (8-11) in Kariya 65-69 on Wednesday. American players dominated the game. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Davante Gardner (203-1991, college: Marquette) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Anthony Lawrence II (201-1996, college: Miami, FL, agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Sea Horses M.'s coach Kimikazu Suzuki used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Devin Oliver (204-1992, college: Dayton) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and center Charles Jackson (208-1993, college: Tenn Tech) added 21 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Yokohama BC in the defeat. Sea Horses M. moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Yokohama BC dropped to the second position with nine games lost. They share it with Hitachi SRT and Tochigi Brex. Sea Horses M. will meet at home league's leader Ryukyu GK in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yokohama BC will play against Sendai 89ers and hope to secure a win.
