Regular Season Round 19: Gunma CT - Hokkaido L. 99-83

Very expected game when 7th ranked Hokkaido L. (5-14) lost on the road to third ranked Gunma CT (12-7) 99-83 on Wednesday. Gunma CT outrebounded Hokkaido L. 39-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-1981, college: Evergreen St.) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-1990, college: Miami, FL) accounted for 20 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Australian forward Brock Motum (208-1990, college: WSU) came up with 17 points and 9 rebounds and American-Finnish forward Alex Murphy (206-1993, college: Northeastern) added 20 points respectively for Hokkaido L. in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gunma CT keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Kawasaki BT. Hokkaido L. lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Ibaraki R.. Gunma CT will meet league's second-placed Hitachi SRT in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hokkaido L. will play against the league's second-placed Hiroshima D. (#2) and hope to secure a win.
