Important game to mention about took place in Hiroshima. Second ranked Hiroshima D. (15-4) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 3rd placed Nagoya DD (14-5) 80-79 in the fight for the first place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Nagoya DD. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Nagoya DD 43-31 including 19 on the offensive glass. Hiroshima D.'s coach Kyle Milling allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side American forward Coty Clarke (201-1992, college: Arkansas) responded with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-1995) scored 25 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hiroshima D. have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Chiba Jets. Nagoya DD at the other side dropped to the second place with five games lost. They share the position with Alvark Tokyo and Shimane SM. Hiroshima D. will play against Hokkaido L. (#7) in Sapporo in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Nagoya DD will play on the road against Shimane SM (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
