Regular Season Round 19: Nagasaki - Koshigaya A. 90-71

The biggest surprise took place in Nagasaki where host Nagasaki (15-6) crushed league's leader Koshigaya A. (16-5) 90-71 on Sunday evening. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Nagasaki looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Filipino-Australian guard Jordan Heading (188-1996, college: CBU) chipped in 22 points. American power forward Brekkott Chapman (206-1996, college: Weber St.) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import center Isaac Butts (208-1989, college: App State) added 14 points and 12 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nagasaki have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Newly promoted Nagasaki maintains second place with 15-6 record behind leader Chiba. Koshigaya A. at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Chiba who have the same record. Koshigaya A. will play next round against strong Kumamoto V. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Nagasaki will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Saga B. on the road.
