Regular Season Round 19: Fukushima - Nishinomiya S. 69-82

Another exciting game was between sixth ranked Nishinomiya S. and 5th ranked Fukushima where Nishinomiya S. (9-12) beat Fukushima (8-13) on the road 82-69. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Fukushima. Nishinomiya S. brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Trey Porter (208-1996, college: Nevada) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 15 rebounds and 6 blocks. Point guard Noriaki Dohara (178-1989) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Five Nishinomiya S. players scored in double figures. Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-1990, college: Florida) answered with 18 points and 9 rebounds and Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (206-1990, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Fukushima. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Nishinomiya S. moved-up to fifth place which they share with defeated Fukushima. Fukushima at the other side keeps the fifth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Fukuoka R. and Kagawa FA. Nishinomiya S. will play against league's leader Chiba on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fukushima will play against Aomori W. (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
