Regular Season Round 18: Gunma CT - Nagoya DD 79-85

There was a minor upset when their close opponent Gunma CT (11-7) was defeated at home by third ranked Nagoya DD (14-4) 85-79 on Sunday. Nagoya DD looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American forward Coty Clarke (201-1992, college: Arkansas) had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists (perfect from downtown making all five shots) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-1995) chipped in 14 points and 8 assists during the contest. Four Nagoya DD players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-1990, college: Miami, FL) with 30 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the former international guard Narito Namizato (172-1989) scored 11 points and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nagoya DD have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Chiba Jets and Hiroshima D. Gunma CT lost third consecutive game. They still keep top place with seven games lost. They share the position with Kawasaki BT. Nagoya DD will meet league's second-placed Hiroshima D. on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gunma CT will play against Hokkaido L. and hope to secure a win.
