Regular Season Round 18: Shinagawa - Saitama 79-90
Date: December 10, 2022
Bottom-ranked Shinagawa (0-19) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 19th consecutive match to sixth ranked Saitama (14-5) 90-79. Saitama players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. American center Will Creekmore (205-1989, college: Missouri St.) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and the other American import power forward Ryan Watkins (206-1991, college: Boise St., agency: Slash Sports) supported him with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Even 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds by American forward AJ Bramah (201-1999, college: Nevada) did not help to save the game for Shinagawa. Canadian center Renaldo Dixon (206-1990, college: NM State) added 15 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Saitama have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Yokohama EX. Shinagawa at the other side still closes the standings. Saitama will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shinagawa will play again at home against Saitama (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
