Regular Season Round 9: Kings - Fubon Braves 103-99

Very significant was Kings' (#1, 6-2) victory against second-best Fubon Braves (5-3) 103-99. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fubon Braves. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Strangely Fubon Braves outrebounded Kings 56-44 including 20 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. American-British center Byron Mullens (213-1989, college: Ohio St., agency: BeoBasket) nailed a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and American swingman Kenny Manigault (195-1991, college: Pikeville) accounted for 31 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. American forward Michael Singletary (198-1988, college: Texas Tech) came up with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import power forward Chris Johnson (210-1985, college: LSU) added 23 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks respectively for Fubon Braves in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kings maintains first place with 6-2 record. Fubon Braves at the other side keep the second position with three games lost. Kings will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fubon Braves will play on the road against Dreamers in Changhua and hope to get back on the winning track.
