Regular Season Round 17: Gunma CT - Nagoya DD 78-92

There was a minor upset when their close opponent Gunma CT (11-6) was defeated at home by third ranked Nagoya DD (13-4) 92-78 on Saturday. Nagoya DD shot 61.1 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Coty Clarke (201-1992, college: Arkansas) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. The former international point guard Takumi Saito (172-1995) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 assists. Naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-1981, college: Evergreen St.) produced 12 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and American guard Trey McKinney-Jones (198-1990, college: Miami, FL) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nagoya DD have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Hiroshima D. Loser Gunma CT keeps the third position with six games lost. Nagoya DD will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gunma CT will play again against Nagoya DD and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
