Rather predictable result when fourteenth ranked Sharks (5-6) rolled over 17th ranked Blue Whales (3-8) in Sichuan 113-90 on Friday. Sharks made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Blue Whales turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Sharks looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Melo Trimble (190-1995, college: Maryland, agency: Pensack Sports) who led the winners and scored 25 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). His fellow American import power forward Johnny O'Bryant III (207-1993, college: LSU, agency: Slash Sports) accounted for 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Hanyi Jing (195-1999) came up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Marlain Veal (175-1996, college: SE Louisiana) added 12 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals respectively for Blue Whales in the defeat. Five Sharks and four Blue Whales players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Sharks. They moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Blue Whales keep the seventeenth position with eight games lost. They share it with Tianjin. Sharks will meet at home bottom-ranked Rockets (#20) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Blue Whales will play against the league's leader Golden Bulls and will have a slim chance for a victory.
