Regular Season Round 17: Kumamoto V. - Kagawa FA 81-79

Sixth-ranked Kagawa FA (7-12) was very close to win a game against third ranked Kumamoto V. (12-7) on Sunday. Kumamoto V. managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Kagawa FA. American forward Kevin Kotzur (203-1989, college: St.Mary's, TX, agency: Green Sports Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Terrance Woodbury (201-1987, college: Georgia) contributed with 24 points and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winners. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. British forward Myles Hesson (198-1990, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and Australian center Angus Brandt (208-1989, college: Oregon St.) added 11 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists in the effort for Kagawa FA. Four Kagawa FA players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Kumamoto V. maintains third place with 12-7 record having four points less than leader Saga B. Kagawa FA at the other side keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Fukushima. Kumamoto V. are looking forward to face Yamagata (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kagawa FA will play against Aomori W. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
