Very expected game when 10th ranked Meralco Bolts (4-8) lost to fifth ranked SM Beermen (7-5) in Manila 108-113 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. SM Beermen looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American power forward Devon Scott (206-1994, college: Dayton) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 13 rebounds. Guamanian guard Jericho Cruz (182-1990) contributed with 10 points and 4 assists for the winners. American swingman KJ McDaniels (198-1993, college: Clemson) replied with 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Raymar Jose added 16 points and 17 rebounds in the effort for Meralco Bolts. Four Meralco Bolts players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. SM Beermen have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains fifth position with 7-5 record. Meralco Bolts lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with eight games lost. They share the position with TNT Tropang.
