There was a minor upset when 3rd ranked Alvark Tokyo (9-5) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Akita NH (7-7) 83-69 on Wednesday. Akita NH looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American center Steve Zack (211-1992, college: La Salle) who scored 8 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists. The other American import Stanton Kidd (202-1992, college: Colorado St.) chipped in 22 points. American guard Justin Cobbs (191-1991, college: California, agency: BeoBasket) produced 26 points and 4 assists and the former international Daiki Tanaka (191-1991) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Akita NH have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 7-7 record.
