There was no surprise when 5th ranked Fukuoka R. (8-9) was outplayed at home by third ranked Kumamoto V. (11-6) 74-55 on Tuesday. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was forward Kevin Kotzur (203-1989, college: St.Mary's, TX, agency: Green Sports Management) who scored 9 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Terrance Woodbury (201-1987, college: Georgia) chipped in 16 points. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was center Drew Gordon (206-1990, college: N.Mexico) who recorded 7 points and 18 rebounds and forward Jordan Glynn (200-1989, college: SF Austin) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kumamoto V. moved-up to second place, which they share with Nagasaki. Loser Fukuoka R. dropped to the fourth position with nine games lost. They share it with Nishinomiya S.. Kumamoto V. will meet at home Kagawa FA (#6) in the next round. Fukuoka R. will play against the league's leader Koshigaya A. in Tokyo and hope to secure a win.
