Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Beirut: Dynamo (#3) and Hoops (#12). Hoops were defeated at home 66-75. Dynamo forced 19 Hoops turnovers. Strangely Hoops outrebounded Dynamo 45-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. The former international swingman Ahmad Ibrahim (198-1992, college: Rice) fired 20 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American guard Zach Lofton (193-1992, college: NM State, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 22 points. American power forward Julian Scott (203-1990, college: ASU) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks and power forward Elios Saad (202-2001) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Dynamo have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 7-1 record behind leader Beirut Club, which they share with Al Riyadi. Hoops lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. They share the position with Homentmen and Byblos. Dynamo will meet Champville (#5) in the next round. Hoops will play against NSA (#6) and hope to win that game.
