The game in Kuala Lumpur was also quite interesting. Third ranked NS Matrix (5-2) played at the court of 5th ranked KL Aseel (2-6). NS Matrix managed to secure a 4-point victory 89-85 on Sunday. NS Matrix made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game, while KL Aseel only scored eight points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was Filipino point guard Jeff Viernes (172-1989) who scored 20 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). The former international forward Yi-Hou Wong (196-1996) chipped in 22 points. Four NS Matrix players scored in double figures. Manzo Jun produced 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Filipino guard Jai Reyes (173-1987) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. NS Matrix moved-up to second place. KL Aseel lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Pegasus. NS Matrix will meet Penang SY (#4) on the road in the next round. KL Aseel will play against Adroit in Singapore and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
