Regular Season Round 6: Fubon Braves - Kings 89-104

The most crucial game of the last round was another loss of Fubon Braves (3-2) against first ranked Kings. Kings were defeated by Kings (3-1) 104-89. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Kings dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Fubon Braves' 36. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. American-British center Byron Mullens (213-1989, college: Ohio St., agency: BeoBasket) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and American swingman Kenny Manigault (195-1991, college: Pikeville) supported him with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Kings players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 27 points and 13 rebounds by American power forward Chris Johnson (210-1985, college: LSU) did not help to save the game for Fubon Braves. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Kings have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 3-1 record, which they share with Dreamers. Fubon Braves at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Lioneers. Kings will play against Pilots (#5) in Taoyuan in the next round. Fubon Braves will play at home against Steelers and hope to get back on the winning track.
