Regular Season Round 18: Ginebra Kings - NLEX RW 117-120

Important game to mention about took place in Manila. Eleventh ranked NLEX RW (4-7) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging higher ranked Ginebra Kings (7-3) 120-117 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Ginebra Kings. NLEX RW forced 21 Ginebra Kings turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American Earl Clark (208-1988, college: Louisville) notched a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 17 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and guard Celedonio Trollano (191-1992) supported him with 26 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 39 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists by American forward Justin Brownlee (197-1988, college: St.John's) did not help to save the game for Ginebra Kings. Guard Scottie Thompson (188-1993) added 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. NLEX RW moved-up to tenth place, which they share with TNT Tropang. Ginebra Kings at the other side keep the fourth position with three games lost. NLEX RW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ginebra Kings will play on the road against North Port (#5) in Pasig City and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
