Regular Season Round 3: NS Matrix - Johor Tigers 88-81

The biggest surprise of round 3 in MBL took place in where host NS Matrix (2-1) beat Johor Tigers (2-1) 88-81 on Monday evening. NS Matrix forced 19 Johor Tigers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Chun-Hong Ting (193-1996) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds. The former international forward Tian-Yuan Kuek (201-1991) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Five NS Matrix players scored in double figures. NS Matrix's coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Tevin Glass (206-1994, college: ETSU, agency: BIG) who recorded a double-double by scoring 32 points and 18 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and the former international forward Zhi-Shin Chin (192-1987) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Johor Tigers will play next round against strong KL Aseel trying to make it back to the top of the standings. NS Matrix will try to continue on its current victory against Pegasus in Bandar Seri Begawan.
