The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Chiba Jets as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (Hiroshima D.) loss. Chiba Jets defeated leader Hiroshima D. at home 91-77. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Hiroshima D.. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Chiba Jets players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. It was an exceptional evening for forward John Mooney (206-1998, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Christopher Smith (193-1994, college: Utah St.) accounted for 17 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. Forward Dwayne Evans (201-1992, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and forward Kerry Blackshear Jr (208-1997, college: Florida) added 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Hiroshima D. in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Hiroshima D. Hiroshima D. will play next round against Sea Horses M. trying to get back on the winning streak. Chiba Jets will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Toyama G. on the road.
