Regular Season Round 5: Fubon Braves - Lioneers 104-108

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Fubon Braves (3-1) against fourth ranked Lioneers on Sunday night. Lioneers were defeated by fourth ranked Lioneers (2-2) 108-104. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Fubon Braves. Lioneers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Lioneers made 7 blocks. Indian-Canadian center Sim Bhullar (226-1992, college: NM State) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds. American guard Terrico White (196-1990, college: Ole Miss) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Five Lioneers players scored in double figures. American power forward Chris Johnson (210-1985, college: LSU) answered with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!) and 20 rebounds and guard Ting-Jhao Jian (183-1998, college: Bellevue CC) added 16 points in the effort for Fubon Braves. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Lioneers maintains fourth place with 2-2 record. Fubon Braves at the other side still keep top position with one game lost. Lioneers are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Steelers (#6) in Kaohsiung in the next round. Fubon Braves' supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Taipei Kings.
