Regular Season Round 12: Nagasaki - Saga B. 107-110

Important game to mention about took place in Nagasaki. Third ranked Saga B. (9-5) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging second-best Nagasaki (9-5) 110-107 in the fight for the second place. Saga B. made 28-of-36 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. Nagasaki was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by Cuban guard Reynaldo Garcia (187-1990) who scored that evening 38 points (!!!), 9 assists and 7 steals and American Chase Fieler (202-1992, college: FGCU) supported him with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 34 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 7 assists by American forward Matt Bonds (196-1995, college: St.Michael's) did not help to save the game for Nagasaki. His fellow American import forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-1980, college: Otterbein) added 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Saga B. and five Nagasaki players scored in double figures. Nagasaki's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Saga B. moved-up to second place, which they share with Kumamoto V. and Nagasaki. Saga B. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nagasaki will play again at home against the league's second-placed Saga B. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
