Regular Season Round 12: Yamagata - Aomori W. 75-67

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when one of their biggest challengers Aomori W. (6-8) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Yamagata (6-8) 75-67 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American center Thomas Welsh (213-1996, college: UCLA, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds. Point guard Shunto Murakami (183-1996) chipped in 9 points and 4 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Alex Davis (206-1992, college: Fresno St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward EJ Montgomery (208-1999, college: Kentucky) added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Yamagata moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Aomori W. Yamagata will again meet at home Aomori W. (#5) in the next round. Aomori W. will have a break next round.
