Regular Season Round 12: Shanan Utd - Iwate 59-88
Date: November 18, 2022
Not a big story in a game in Kanagawa where 10th ranked Shanan Utd (5-9) was rolled over by fourth ranked Iwate (11-3) 88-59 on Friday. Iwate forced 22 Shanan Utd turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Beninese power forward Muusa Dama (207-1996, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. American power forward Gerald Beverly (202-1993, college: Daemen) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four Iwate players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Chris Olivier (202-1992, college: OK State, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Steven Green (196-1993, college: OKBU) added 12 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Iwate have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 11-3 record. Shanan Utd lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Yamaguchi. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
