Regular Season Round 10: Almaty L. - Altay 122-45

Bottom-ranked Altay is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 11th consecutive match to third ranked Almaty L. (8-2) 122-45. Almaty L. dominated down low during the game scoring 88 of its points in the paint compared to Altay's 30. Almaty L. forced 44 Altay turnovers and outrebounded them 47-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 43 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Altay's players. Point guard Daniil Severgin (183-2005) scored 9 points and 14 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Daniel Albrant (205-1998) chipped in 17 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Almaty L. players scored in double figures. At the losing side Russian guard Evgeniy Gorev (193-1982) responded with 10 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Sergey Ivanov (178-1998) scored 11 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Almaty L. maintains third position with 8-2 record having just two points less than leader Shymkent. Altay at the other side, also newcomer in the league, still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Almaty L. will play against Tigers-KazATU (#8) in Astana in the next round where they are favorite. Altay will play at home against ChelSU (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
