Very predictable result when seventh ranked Tokyo Utd (8-4) rolled over at home 13th ranked Toyoda (3-9) 113-88 on Sunday. Tokyo Utd made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Tokyo Utd outrebounded Toyoda 36-23 including 24 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 53.8 percentage. Tokyo Utd looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Michael Craig (196-1991, college: Southern Miss) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists. His fellow American import Marcus Dove (206-1985, college: OK State) accounted for 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Tokyo Utd's coach Masaki Hayamizu felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. German center Yasin Kolo (208-1992, college: Bellarmine) came up with 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and American JD Weatherspoon (198-1992, college: Toledo) added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Toyoda in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Tokyo Utd. They moved-up to sixth place. Toyoda lost their third game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Tokyo Utd will meet league's leader Shizuoka on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toyoda will play against Gifu (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
