Regular Season Round 11: Fukushima - Aomori W. 77-72

The game in Fukushima was also quite interesting. 4th placed Aomori W. (6-7) played at the court of sixth ranked Fukushima (4-9). Fukushima managed to secure a 5-point victory 77-72 on Sunday. Fukushima looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Finnish-American power forward Erik Murphy (208-1990, college: Florida) who led the winners and scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Venezuelan center Gregory Echenique (206-1990, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) accounted for 12 points and 5 assists for the winning side. American center Max Hisatake (203-1998, college: IlIinois Tech) came up with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import power forward EJ Montgomery (208-1999, college: Kentucky) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Aomori W. in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Fukushima maintains sixth place with 4-9 record, which they share with Kagawa FA. Loser Aomori W. keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Fukuoka R.. Fukushima will meet higher ranked Kumamoto V. (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aomori W. will play against Yamagata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
