Regular Season Round 11: Kagoshima - Tachikawa 94-70

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Kagoshima (10-2) crushed 14th ranked Tachikawa (2-10) in Renova 94-70 on Sunday. Kagoshima dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Tachikawa's 34 and made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Kagoshima forced 19 Tachikawa turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-1993, college: LCU) who led the winners and scored 28 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import forward Logan Routt (211-1997, college: WVU) accounted for 17 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Kagoshima's coach Predrag Krunic felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Scott Blakney (203-1998, college: Montana) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Ryusei Abe (181-1995) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Tachikawa in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kagoshima moved-up to second place, which they share with Yokohama EX. Newly promoted Tachikawa keeps the fourteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with Gifu. Kagoshima will meet Veertien Mie (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tachikawa will play against Kanazawa and hope to secure a win.
