Regular Season Round 9: Karaganda - Irtysh 47-58

Very expected game when 9th ranked Karaganda (1-8) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Irtysh (5-4) 58-47 on Saturday. Irtysh outrebounded Karaganda 44-31 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Oksana Ossipenko (186-1985) who scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Xeniya Abdurashitova (168-2001) chipped in 5 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Irtysh's coach Andreii Mekhovykh used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Firuza Alidodova (167-1994) who recorded 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Asylzhan Maylybai (170-2003) added 16 points respectively. Irtysh maintains fifth place with 5-4 record. Karaganda lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with eight games lost.
