This time Okzhetpes used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Kazygurt 67-57 on Friday night. Okzhetpes outrebounded Shymkent 51-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by power forward Nadezhda Yakovleva (183-2003) who scored that evening 20 points and 9 rebounds and forward Angelina Mihaylova (187-1994) supported her with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Okzhetpes players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 4 assists by guard Akmaral Ryskulbek (173-1998) did not help to save the game for Shymkent. Forward Svetlana Ulitina (175-2004) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the guests. Okzhetpes (3-5) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Aktobe. Loser Shymkent keeps the eighth position with six games lost. Okzhetpes will meet Aktobe (#6) on the road in the next round. Shymkent will play against Caspiy Aktau and hope to secure a win.
