An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Astana. Third ranked Astana Tigers faced 4th placed Caspiy Aktau. Host Astana Tigers (6-1) defeated guests from Aktau (4-3) 71-53. Astana Tigers dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Caspiy Aktau's 26. They outrebounded Caspiy Aktau 39-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. Astana Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The former international forward Tamara Kuzmina (183-1990) fired a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Anastasia Knaub (184-2005) chipped in 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Valeria Petrova (184-1996) produced 12 points and 5 assists and the former international center Anastasiya Ilyasova (185-1998) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Astana Tigers moved-up to second place, which they share with Tomiris. Caspiy Aktau at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Irtysh. Astana Tigers is looking forward to face Irtysh (#5) in Pavlodar in the next round. Caspiy Aktau will play at home against Karaganda and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
