Regular Season Round 6: Okzhetpes - Astana Tigers 48-67

Very expected game in Kokshetay where 9th ranked Okzhetpes (2-5) were rolled over by third ranked Astana Tigers (6-1) 67-48. It was a good game for the former international forward Tamara Kuzmina (183-1990) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists. The former international center Anna Bezgodova (192-1992) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Astana Tigers players scored in double figures. Power forward Nadezhda Yakovleva (183-2003) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and forward Angelina Mihaylova (187-1994) added 2 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Okzhetpes. Astana Tigers moved-up to second place, which they share with Tomiris. Okzhetpes lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. They share it with Shymkent. Astana Tigers will play against Caspiy Aktau (#4) at home in the next round. Okzhetpes will play against Karaganda and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
