Regular Season Round 9: Saitama - Kagoshima 82-75

The game between second ranked Kagoshima (8-2) and sixth ranked Saitama (7-3) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Kagoshima was defeated by Saitama in a tough game in Saitama 75-82. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Kagoshima. Saitama made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Americans were the main players on the court. Power forward Ryan Watkins (206-1991, college: Boise St., agency: Slash Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and center Will Creekmore (205-1989, college: Missouri St.) chipped in 21 points and 11 rebounds. The best for the losing side was forward Logan Routt (211-1997, college: WVU) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Anthony Gaines Jr (195-1993, college: LCU) scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Saitama moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Iwate. Kagoshima at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Yokohama EX. Saitama is looking forward to face Iwate (#5) on the road in the next round. Kagoshima will play against Tachikawa and is hoping to win this game.
