Regular Season Round 5: Fujitsu RW - Yamanashi QB 77-58

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Fujitsu RW as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Fujitsu RW smashed 11th ranked Yamanashi QB in Kawasaki 77-58. They outrebounded Yamanashi QB 46-32 including 17 on the offensive glass. The former international forward Yuki Miyazawa (183-1993, college: Queens, NY) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 8 rebounds. International point guard Rui Machida (162-1993) contributed with 7 points and 12 assists for the winners. Ayana Nakayama (169-1997) answered with 23 points and 5 rebounds and Nanami Hamanishi (168-1998) added 10 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Yamanashi QB. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fujitsu RW (5-0) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Toyota BSR. Yamanashi QB lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with four games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Yamanashi QB will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Fujitsu RW will try to continue on its current victory against thirteenth ranked Yamanashi QB at home.
