Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Guandong Tigers (5-3) outplayed 11th ranked Flying Tigers (4-5) in Urumqi 100-81 on Friday. Guandong Tigers made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Flying Tigers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by American MarShon Brooks (197-1989, college: Providence) who scored that evening 28 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and the former international power forward Jianlian Yi (212-1987) supported him with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Even a double-double of 15 points, 12 rebounds and 7 blocks by Senegalese center Tacko Fall (231-1995, college: UCF) did not help to save the game for Flying Tigers. Swingman Yilifulati Monhetaner (195-2000) added 18 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guandong Tigers have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory Guandong Tigers went down to seventh position due to points difference. Loser Flying Tigers keep the eleventh place with five games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Guandong Tigers will meet at home Guangsha Lions (#15) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Flying Tigers will play against Monkey Kings (#6) in Jiangsu and hope to secure a win.
