Regular Season Round 8: Jiangsu D. - Liaoning FL 91-90

A very close game took place in Nanjing between Jiangsu Dragons and Flying Leopards. Third ranked Jiangsu Dragons (6-3) got a very close home victory over their close opponent Flying Leopards (7-2). Jiangsu Dragons managed to escape with a 1-point win 91-90 on Thursday evening. Jiangsu Dragons made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American guard Antonio Blakeney (193-1996, college: LSU) who scored that evening 47 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import center Devin Williams (206-1994, college: WVU) supported him with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Even 35 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds by American guard Kyle Fogg (191-1990, college: Arizona) did not help to save the game for Flying Leopards. The former international point guard Jiwei Zhao (184-1995) added 17 points and 9 assists for the guests. Four Flying Leopards players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Jiangsu Dragons have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory Jiangsu Dragons went down to fourth position due to points difference, which they share with Shandong H. and Nanjing TX MK. Defending champion Flying Leopards dropped to the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Shanxi L.. Jiangsu Dragons will meet at home league's second-placed Loongs in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Flying Leopards will play against Blue Whales in Sichuan and hope to secure a win.
